Mitsubishi exhibits 149-inch OLED screen
Mitsubishi exhibited a 155-inch OLED screen in Japan some time ago and on ISE 2010 in Amsterdam they exhibited a very impressive 149-inch OLED screen.149-inch OLED
Misubishi’s 149-inch OLED screen is huge. It’s not one big OLED panel but instead it has been composed by a mosaic of smaller OLED panels that has been put together to create one gigantic screen.

For most panel technologies smaller modules would mean that you would get black lines at the intersections but not with Mitsubishi’s attempt. Mitsubishi says that the large screen has no visible edges.
The screen measures 3516 mm times 2471 mm. The depth of the screen is about 8 cm with controller boards etc. The area of the screen corresponds to about 6.2 square meters which is enough to display a person in full size.
The resolution is the most significant limitation at the moment and with a resolution of just 1088x640 pixels there’s a long way to the Full HD standard.

The huge OLED screen is designed for digital signage and other large information display applications. An extremely high brightness of 1500 cd/m2 makes the screen viewable during daytime as well. A living room TV typically has a brightness of 100-300 cd/m2.
The 149-inch screen and the 155-inch screen are, according to Mitsubishi, the world’s first scalable OLED displays. The screens can also be curved Mitsubishi says.
