LG has unveiled a new LX6500 3D-Tv range that starts at a lower price than the flagship LX9500 3D model. The LX6500 also features DLNA and internet-enabled NetCast services.

On CES 2010 LG introduced the LX9500 3D model and now LG extend their line-up with a lower priced 3D model called LX6500.

LX6500 appeal to consumers who want 3D functionality but don’t want to pay the premium price that LX9500 has. LX6500 is also a decent TV even though you’re not interested in the 3D part.


LG LX6500

LX6500 has an Edge LED backlight, 200/240 Hz, 2.2 ms response time and Full HD resolution. The LED backlight does not feature the same local dimming function as LX9500 but has a limited local dimming system with 12 zones. 
LG also mentions that LX6500 is utilizing the Active 3D shutter system.

LX6500 supports DLNA and DivX. The NetCast internet system gives you access to services such as YouTube and Picasa.

The LX6500 series will be available starting week 21 in 42 and 47 inches called 42LX6500 and 47LX6500. The recommended retail prices are 1850 and 2250 Euro (converted from Danish prices).

You can also expect at least one pair of 3D glasses bundled with all LG’s 3D-Tvs.

Additional 3D glasses are available for for 120 Euro. These are called AG-S100.
