Google TV has been a failure so far but Google stays committed to their Google TV project, Chairman Eric Schmidt says. Google TV will launch in Europe early next year.
Google TV in Europe in 2012
Google TV was not the revolution that consumers had hoped for. Instead it was received with lukewarm reviews and resistance from TV broadcasters. Google hopes to change that.

Logitech Revue
In our article Apple TV success, Google TV failure we mention that Google plans to update their Google TV platform with an Android App Market similar to that known from smartphones. And with a range of other updates as well, Google hopes to create a better experience for consumers.
And according to Google’s Chairman Eric Schmidt, Google TV will launch in Europe early next year. Google TV was originally introduced in the US in October 2010.
- "We expect Google TV to launch in Europe early next year, and of course the UK will be among the top priorities.", Schmidt says.

Sony Google TV
Google also plans to include more partners in the near future. The current partners include Logitech and Sony but Samsung, Toshiba and Vizio were mentioned last year as potential partners before Google went on to put their Google TV project “on-hold”.
Logitech recently slashed the price on their Revue box to 99 USD from 249 USD. Google also recently bought Motorola, which gives Google access to Motorola’s well-established TV box division and know-how.
