Google: In 2012 most TVs will have Google TV

Google’s chairman, Eric Schmidt, shared some insight at the LeWeb 2011 event yesterday. One of his predictions is that most TVs will come with Google TV in 2012.

Google TV is a smart TV platform and it has recently been updated to feature TV Apps, a new user interface and more (hands-on article). Yesterday, Eric Schmidt publicly said that Google TV will be embedded in most TVs by summer 2012.

Schmidt’s statement at the LeWeb event coincides with the recent rumors about Google TVs from Samsung and LG. Sony and Vizio are also supporting the Google TV platform, and we expect more to join soon. Watch the full interview here (Google TV talk at 39:20).
