We told you that TV manufacturers were planning to release voice enabled TVs as early as 2012 but we did not expect the confirmation to arrive so soon.

LG’s new 2012 Magic Remote control supports voice recognition
LG has announced a refresh of their Magic Motion remote for the 2012 TVs. The updated Magic remote will implement voice recognition for text input, a scroll wheel and motion gestures. The 2011 version already implements Wii-like controls but motion gestures are new.
We are not sure exactly what gestures and voice commands are supported at the moment, but LG adds that you can, for example, paint a “V” in free air to bring up a list of recently watched videos.
The new Magic Motion remote will be unveiled at CES 2012 in Las Vegas together with LG’s 2012 Smart TVs.
