LG is introducing us to the future of display technology with the launch of the 55-inch OLED-TV called 55EM9600. The TV is now official and we have all the details.
LG’s 55-inch OLED-TV
The OLED-TV is razor-thin with a 4 mm design and an extremely slim bezel. LG also boasts a 100,00,000:1 contrast ratio and extremely fast response time. It weighs 7,5 kilograms.
LG confirms that they will be using the Cinema 3D system with passive 3D glasses. We still need to confirm the resolution.
LG’s 55-inch OLED-TV
The OLED-TV looks amazing with vivid colors, extremely deep black levels and pretty much perfect viewing angles. We will publish a hands-on article later on. For more real-life picture see this article.
LG is using white OLED with color filters. LG says that they use a 4-color pixels and a color refiner. Pixels contain RGBW (red, green, blue, white) subpixels. The color refiner is said to ensure color consistency from wider viewing angles. With these systems LG promises the ”most natural colors on any TV set”
