CES 2012 was intense. We saw new products, new systems and new technologies in every corner.
But one thing screamed louder than anything else; the OLED-TVs. We are still in the early phase here but LG and Samsung unveiled their new 55-inch OLED-TVs to the hungry crowds. LG had a few more details to share on their TV than Samsung but it is impossible to select just one winner. FlatpanelsHD’s “Best of CES 2012” award therefore goes to the “OLED-TV”.

But what was the most talked-about subject? According to Mashable that examined the most active Twitter subjects after the two first days of press unveilings, OLED was definitively a popular subject – as were ultrabooks and tablets.

And in the press room we overheard a lot of praise for the OLED-TVs. Everyone seemed impressed. The press also chatted a lot about ultrabooks and tablets but the tone was a lot more mixed. Some seemed to like what they saw, others didn’t. And then something that was completely different: Apple’s coming HDTV seemed to be a hot – if not the hottest – topic amongst journalist groups in the press rooms. Everyone seemed to have an opinion about the yet-announced-rumor-only product. It was curious to observe.More highlights
