Philips follows the market trend and has introduced a new line of TVs with a "frameless" design. The 6900 TVs will debut in Europe shortly with passive 3D, Smart TV, and Ambilight.
Philips 6900 is a TV wallpaper
Philips calls it a purist, frameless design. It is not completely frameless, however, but the bezel is reduced to a minimum. The 6900 TVs will be available in 42 and 47 inch sizes and measures just 3.5 centimeters in depth.

The TVs are not new high-end models and the 9000 TV should still be considered Philips’ best TV but the 6900 series is still packed with most of Philips’ features. It is based on an IPS panel and uses a Micro Dimming system. The panel also supports passive 3D that relies on inexpensive polarized 3D glasses – the same ones used in most movie theatres.

Philips has integrated 2-sided Ambilight and their Smart TV platform, with access to video services, TV apps and more. The TV has a recording function that requires an external USB hard drive connected on the back side. Philips also introduces a new Wi-Fi Smart Screen feature that lets users “pull” TV channels from the TV screen onto a smartphone or tablet screen. Wi-Fi Smart Screen will be available through a future software update.
