Philips’ new DesignLine TVs have been created like a piece of furniture, Philips says. Philips’ signature Ambilight system has been integrated as well as Smart TV and 3D.
Philips’ new DesignLine
Philips introduced their first DesignLine TVs in 2011 and this year Philips has prepared an updated version. Unlike last year, the 2012 DesignLine model will only be available in white.

The DesignLine TV is technically more or less identical to Philips’ 6900-TVs as the main difference is design. On the functionality side Philips has included the Ambilight Spectre 2 system and Pixel Precise HD. The TV also has a 3D function based on the inexpensive polarized 3D glasses that you know from movie theatres.

Philips’ Smart TV platform is available, too. In the Smart TV section users can download apps or rent movies over the internet. Philips also highlights the USB recording feature that is enabled when a USB hard drive is connected. WiFi is built in and you can control the TV with a smartphone or tablet via Philips’ free app.
