Just like Acer, Dell has prepared a little something for those who like the idea of using a multi-touch monitor for Windows 8 on their desk. The new 23-inch S2340T has a 10-point multi-touch interface.

Windows 8 is heavily focused on touch input and the PC monitor makers are prepared to transfer touch functionality to the desktop.

Dell’s latest 23-inch S2340T has a full 10-point multi-touch screen that allows you to scroll, zoom, tap or pull when combined with the new Windows 8 operating system. Dell has produced touch screens in the past based on infrared touch that allows up to two simultaneous touch points. This monitor is based on capacitive touch, just like our tablets and smartphones, which provide much faster, more accurate and interactive touch capabilities with up to 10 simultaneous touch points.

Input connectivity includes DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet plug, and a headphone jack. A microphone and 2x5W speakers are also built in. Dell uses edge LED backlighting to reduce power consumption.
