Apple shows continued interest in the TV industry and according to rumors in the industry Apple is currently in talks with LG about their 55 and 65-inch Ultra HD panels.

Rumors about an actual TV screen from Apple have swirled for years but so far nothing has materialized. According to industry sources Apple shows continued interest.
Apple is said to be in talks with LG about Ultra HD panels
Apple is reportedly in talks with LG.Display, which is LG’s display panel production arm. Apple and LG.Display have discussed the possibility of integrating 55 and 65 inch Ultra HD panels into a TV screen from Apple. The panels in question are LG’s LCD IPS panels that will go into mass production this August/September.
Apple and LG have not reached an agreement and according to the report Apple is still testing the technology. The first time we heard about Apple’s interest in Ultra HD was in March 2013. Apple has also been in discussions with Sharp on the prospects of sourcing Ultra HD panels. Sharp is not currently mass producing Ultra HD panels but is expected to start production in a few months.
