Samsung cuts Ultra HD TV prices further by $1000

Last month, Samsung cut prices of its Ultra HD TVs by up to $1500 dollars, following price cuts from Sony. After the introduction of cheaper Ultra HD TVs at IFA 2013, Samsung has decided to cut prices even further by $1000 on the 55 and 65” F9000 models.

Prices on Ultra HD TVs are falling drastically, and it is pretty amazing to observe as a consumer. Some of the second-tier TV brands started putting pressure on prices earlier this year, and Sony, Samsung, and LG later decided to cut prices by up to $1500 dollars.


Samsung has cut the prices on its F9000 TVs again

Only one month has passed since the last price cuts, and now Samsung is cutting prices even further, following the announcement of cheaper Ultra HD TVs from LG and Sony at IFA 2013.

The 55” 55F9000 was introduced this summer with a $5500 price tag that was later cut to $4500 in August. And now it has been cut even further to $3500. The 65” 65F9000 was introduced at $7500, later cut to $6000, and now cut to $5000. The new prices match those of the new entry-level LG and Sony models.

The price cut have not yet reached Europe where the TVs are still available at the old prices. We have not been able to get a comment from Samsung regarding the new price cuts.

Despite the extreme price cuts, some TV makers still sell 4K TVs considerably cheaper.  The cheapest 4K TV available is Seiki’s 39” 4K TV that sells for less than $700.
