Sony released its 2015 TVs not so long ago, and is now expanding the line-up with a curved TV. S85C is basically a curved version of the flat X85C, offering Ultra HD, Google Cast and a twin tuner.
Sony S85C now shipping
Sony was one of the first TV manufacturers to release a curved TV in Japan but the curved form factor has not been a big selling point for the company in Europe and the US. The new S85C will not even be available in US.
But it will launch in Europe and has started shipping in most countries in 55 and 65 inch sizes. S85C is an Ultra HD TV with an extended color space (Triluminos). Like most other new Sony TVs, it is built on Google’s “Android TV” operating system that unifies channels, apps, and games in one interface. It has support for both HEVC and VP9, meaning that you can stream Netflix and YouTube in 4K quality.

The TV also comes equipped with a twin tuner, letting you watch one TV channel while recording another. However, the twin tuner capabilities are not yet enabled. Sony will push out a software update later this year.
S85C is, in essence, a curved version of the flat X85C that we recently reviewed. You can also find a full overview of Sony's 2015 TV line-up here.
