Samsung has reduced prices for its SUHD TVs by several thousand dollars, according to a report by Forbes. The flagship 78" JS9500 TV is down from $17,000 to $10,000.
Samsung’s flagship TVs get cheaper
Price reductions happen, especially for TVs, but Samsung’s latest move is aggressive. The high-end SUHD TVs that have been designed to take UHD to the next level were introduced earlier this year with premium price tags. The new prices look much more attractive.
Prices for the flagship JS9500 TVs have been cut by several thousand dollars. If you are looking for the 78-inch model it now costs $7000 less than compared to when it was introduced in spring 2015. The JS9000 and JS8500 TVs have also become more affordable.

Samsung has tried to position the “SUHD” TVs as a new high-end display technology and an alternative to OLED TVs. However, Samsung’s TVs still rely on the LCD technology, but can reproduce an expanded color gamut and have support for HDR (high dynamic range).
