Other major Hollywood studios have already revealed their first movies to come out on UHD Blu-ray, and now it is Lionsgate’s turn. Lionsgate’s first four titles will be Sicario, The Last Witch Hunter, Ender's Game, and The Expendables 3.
More UHD Blu-ray titles
Lionsgate’s first UHD Blu-ray discs will be available on March 1, 2016, coinciding with the release of the first UHD Blu-ray players – more specifically Samsung’s player.
Sicario, The Last Witch Hunter, Ender's Game and The Expendables 3 will all be released in 4K resolution and HDR (high dynamic range). To enjoy HDR you need a TV with HDR support, and preferably one of the “UHD Premium” certified models.

Sicario, Ender's Game and The Expendables 3 will include a Dolby Atmos audio track, whereas The Last Witch Hunter will offer DTS:X. Both formats are so-called “object-based” audio formats. To enjoy Atmos and DTS:X you need a sound system with native support.
- “These four films are uniquely suited to show consumers how incredible this new format can be with a truly immersive experience complementing the new hardware capabilities,” said Ron Schwartz, President of Home Entertainment.
Lionsgate did not specific other upcoming titles and did not say whether these titles will be available through streaming services as well.
All four titles will include a Blu-ray discs and a “Digital HD” voucher that lets you download a digital copy. The discs are also packed with extras. Sicario and The Last Witch Hunter will be available for $42.99 dollars. Ender's Game and The Expendables 3 will be available for $22.99.
20th Century Fox has already announced its first titles for UHD Blu-ray (1, 2). Sony Pictures and Warner, too. Sony Pictures, Warner, 20th Century Fox and Disney have announced its first Dolby Vision titles.
