The 2TB version of Xbox One S will launch next week on August 2. The more affordable options with 500GB and 1TB capacity will launch in select countries on August 23 as bundles, Microsoft has announced.
More Xbox One S options
Microsoft’s 2TB Xbox One S will launch first in 25 countries on August 2 for $399.
Some people had feared that the cheaper options would not be available until December, but Microsoft has announced that they will be available in the first countries 3 weeks later than the 2TB version. The 500GB and 1TB options will launch on August 23 in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand for $299 USD and $349 USD, Microsoft said.
Xbox One S is the first game console to support HDR gaming as well as UHD Blu-ray playback. It stands to become the cheapest UHD Blu-ray player. In addition it also supports 4K streaming.
The 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S consoles will be available as ‘Madden NFL 17’ and ‘Halo Collections’ bundles, confirms Microsoft. They are available for pre-order now.
