In July 2016, Sony announced the flagship Z9D (ZD9 in Europe), which has been available in 65 and 75-inch sizes for a few months. Sony is now releasing an enormous 100-inch version.
Sony’s most expensive TV
The Z series features one unique feature that sets it apart from other high-end LCD TVs. “Backlight Master Drive” is a new type of local dimming system, which offers individual LED control for and brighter and more accurate peak brightness reproduction in HDR. The TV supports the HDR10 standard but not Dolby Vision.
Imagine for a second having all this in a 100-inch TV. If you have enough money to spend, it can now be yours. Sony has started manufacturing and rolling out the enormous TV in Japan and it will follow shortly across USA, Europa, and other regions, says Sony.

We have found the 100” Z9D listed for $60,000 dollars at some US retailers. In Europe it is listed for €70,000 and in the UK for Ł60,000. One retailer lists it with a 7-14 day shipping estimate.
Besides featuring advanced LCD technology, the Z range also comes packed with Google’s Android TV, apps, Sony’s '4K Processor X1', HEVC/VP9 decoding, and more.
The 100-inch Z9D TV arrives just as Sony is about to announce its 2017 TV line-up. The new generation of TVs will be announced in early January 2017 at the CES show in Las Vegas.
