The EZ1000 range of OLED TVs will be extended to include a larger 77-inch version later this year, Panasonic announced today at the Panasonic Convention in Frankfurt.
77” Panasonic EZ1000 OLED
Like LG and Sony, Panasonic will offer a 77-inch OLED TV in 2017. This will be the star of the company’s 2017 TV line-up. The price was not announced by we think it is safe to assume that it will cost a significant sum.
The 77-inch OLED TV will be part of the EZ1000 range that was unveiled at CES 2017. When we saw EZ1000 at CES we were impressed by the picture quality but disappointed about it only being available in a 65-inch version. Panasonic is answering our prayers by not only adding the 77-inch EZ1000 but also launching 55 and 65-inch EZ950 OLED TVs.

- “The professional-grade EZ1000 and EZ950 both unlock the full contrast and colour potential of the latest OLED screen technology, with unprecedented black levels and the most accurate colours ever seen, resulting in pictures of extraordinary accuracy and spectacular beauty,” the company said.
The 77-inch OLED will feature all of the same technologies implemented in the 65-inch version, including the HCX2 processor, support for the HDR10 and HLG formats, the ‘Dynamic Blade’ speaker, and very accurate color processing.

The Japanese TV maker that is best known for its now-discontinued plasma TVs is clearly excited about OLED technology and EZ1000 looks like it could be a top contender for the picture quality crown in 2017.
However, we will have to wait several more months to find out. While the 65-inch EZ1000 will be available in Europe “from June 2017”, the 77-inch EZ1000 will not arrive until autumn. Pricing was not announced and no release plans for the US were confirmed.
