The Formula 1 streaming service, F1 TV, now has an app for Google's Android TV and Google TV as well as Amazon's Fire TV.
F1 TV on the big screen
You no longer need to rely on AirPlay or Chromecast to enjoy Formula 1 live-streaming on the big screen. The new app for Android TV is compatible with Android TVs from the likes of Philips, Sony and TCL as well as boxes like Nvidia Shield.
The app is also compatible with Google TV devices like the new Chromecast and Sony 2021 TVs as well as Amazon Fire TV devices. The app came to Apple TV last month.
F1 TV offers live-streaming of all F1, F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup races plus an extensive library of replays, documentaries, and other related content.
F1 TV now works on all types of screens
The Formula 1 streaming service supports up to 1080p resolution at 50fps. There are no ads and the it allows for up to six simultaneous streams. F1 TV has started testing HDR (High Dynamic Range) but plans to add support for 4K and HDR have yet to be announced.
F1 TV is available in 118 territories, with F1 TV Pro offering live-streaming in 85 territories for $80 / €110 per year or $10 / €14 per month. More information can be found on formula1.com.
