At this time, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X prices will remain unchanged, Microsoft has confirmed in response to Sony's decision to increase the price of both PlayStation 5 consoles.
Yesterday, Sony said that inflation and currency trends have forced it to increase the price of PlayStation 5 across major regions, except the US.
Microsoft is not planning to follow suit at this time.

- "We are constantly evaluating our business to offer our fans great gaming options. Our Xbox Series S suggested retail price remains at $299 and the Xbox Series X is $499. This also applies to other markets and their current pricing," Microsoft said in a statement to media.
In Europe, Xbox Series S costs £250 / €300 and Xbox Series X costs £450 / €500. Unlike PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X is readily available in the UK, Germany and other regions, but not yet the US.

Microsoft is obviously affected by the same economic trends as Sony but it has seemingly decided to swallow price increases in production and shipping as well as currency fluctuations to position Xbox Series X/S as a better-value option than PlayStation 5.
