Disney will no longer release or supply DVD, Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray discs in Australia and New Zealand. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 will be the last physical release.
The news was confirmed by Disney to Australian news network 7news. It covers all forms of physical media including DVD and Blu-ray discs.
The decision is reportedly due to dwindling sales of physical discs and the increasing popularity of streaming services such as Disney+.
Last disc release this month
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3, coming this August, will be the last physical release by Disney in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to Marvel, Disney also owns 20th Century Studios (Fox), Lucasfilm (Star Wars), and Pixar.
Existing Disney discs will be sold only as long as stocks last, so in the future consumers in Australia and New Zealand will have to import discs or hope that local retailers will offer imported discs.

Disney has previously pulled out of the disc market in Asia and Latin America, so unfortunately it would seem that the snowball is rolling.
