Loewe debuts affordable OLED TVs in We.See series

29 May 2024 | Rasmus Larsen |

Loewe is bringing OLED panels down into its We.See series of more affordable TVs. These will be available in 48, 55, and 65 inches with HDMI 2.1 and AirPlay 2 support.

Unlike Bang & Olufsen, luxury TV/AV maker Loewe is not ready to completely ditch LCD technology yet, as it seemingly plans to keep the smaller We.See LCD models in its line-up along with the smaller 'Bild C' LCD models.

However, Loewe is preparing to switch from LCD to OLED for larger sizes under its 'We' sub-brand, which was first introduced in 2021. The new 48, 55 and 65-inch versions will feature LG Display's WOLED panels, as reported by 4KFilme.de.

HDMI 2.1 and Vidaa

The TVs will feature two HDMI 2.1 ports with support for 4K120, VRR and ALLM for console gaming. Additionally, they support HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and Apple AirPlay 2. Unlike Loewe's new high-end Stellar models, which use Samsung's Tizen operating system, these new models will run on Hisense's Vidaa. Vidaa lacks many local apps, so it might be a good idea to pair the TVs with the Chromecast with Google TV or Apple TV 4K.

Starting at 1700 Euro

Loewe's We.See OLED TVs will be available in Europe in June priced at 1700 (48"), 2000 (55") and 2700 (65") Euro. The starting price is only a few hundred Euros more than the launch price of the previous 50-inch LCD version. Rather than competing with luxury TVs from brands like Bang & Olufsen, these models will compete with more mainstream OLED TVs from LG, Panasonic, Philips, and Sony. - Source: 4KFilme
