Asus is teasing its new 27-inch PG27UCDM monitor, while the 27-inch Dell Alienware AW2725Qb has surfaced in a certification database.
FlatpanelsHD gave you the first glimpse of Samsung Display's more pixel-dense QD-OLED panel to enable 4K at 27 inches way back in January.
It is therefore no surprise to see a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with 4K resolution as we approach 2025. The more interesting questions are what brands will be first to launch monitors based on the panel, and when?
27-inch 4K QD-OLED from Dell
We saw the first 27-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor emerge in China last month, and we are now also hearing about new monitors from more established monitor brands.
This week, a Dell Alienware AW2725Qb was registered in a certification database. The model number confirms that it is a 27-inch OLED.
- "We expect the AW2725Q is a new 27" 3840 x 2160 "4K" resolution model with 240Hz refresh rate, given the 'Q' was used for their AW3225QF 32" 4K model instead of the "D" used for their 27" 1440p AW2725DF. Likely built around a Samsung QD-OLED panel again with a flat format and the semi-glossy screen coating," reports TFTCentral.
27-inch 4K QD-OLED from Asus
In a post on social media, Asus shared a teaser video for an upcoming monitor called 'Rog Swift OLED PG27UCDM'.
The model number confirms that it is a 27-inch monitor and 'UCDM' is Asus' nomenclature for QD-OLED with 4K resolution (like the existing 32-inch PG32UCDM).
And as confirmed in China, Samsung Display's new 27-inch 4K QD-OLED panel is 240Hz.
