ASRock unveils 3 new OLED monitors including firsts with Wi-Fi 7

12 Dec 2024 | Rasmus Larsen |

ASRock, the company that is probably best known for its motherboards, has announced two new WOLED monitors and one QD-OLED monitor for 2025.

The three new monitors are:
  • 32" PGO32UFS (WOLED)
  • 27" PGO27QFS (WOLED)
  • 27" PGO27QFV (QD-OLED) All three are expected to significantly outperform LCD gaming monitors and will compete directly with OLED monitors from more established monitor brands such as Asus, Acer, Dell, LG and Samsung.

    Two WOLED, one QD-OLED

The PGO32UFS is a 32-inch flat monitor with a WOLED panel from LG Display, featuring 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it supports Dual Mode meaning that it can deliver 480Hz at 1080p resolution. PGO27QFS is a 27-inch flat WOLED with 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate while the PGO27QFV is a 27-inch flat QD-OLED with 1440p and 360Hz.

The monitors are equipped with HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 for PC connection, plus USB-C ports. The monitors are also certified AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for VRR gaming. - "All three monitors in the series feature OLED panels with a 99% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, delivering vivid and vibrant visuals. They offer an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time and undergo rigorous color calibration before shipment, ensuring Delta E<2 color accuracy for lifelike and precise visuals. To maximize longevity, the series is equipped with advanced cooling solutions, pixel cleaning, and automatic brightness adjustment to prevent image retention, guaranteeing consistent performance and visual quality over time," said ASRock.

    Wi-Fi 7 built-in

A first for monitors, as far as we are aware, is Wi-Fi 7, which is built into both the 32-inch PGO32UFS and 27-inch PGO27QFV models. ASRock envisions the monitor to function as a Wi-Fi antenna, replacing the need for one under the desk in the PC cabinet. The monitor transmits the signal to the PC via Wi-Fi antenna cables, which are included. The monitors are set for release in 2025, with pricing to be announced later. We expect many more OLED monitors to be revealed at CES 2025 in January so stay tuned for updates.
