Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming CEO, has confirmed the rumors stating that Xbox games will be released for Switch 2. Titles could include Diablo 4 and Halo.
The partnership was confirmed in an interview with Gamertag Radio via VideoGamesChronicle, published last Friday.
- "I was exchanging emails with Furukawa-san, the CEO of Nintendo. I gave him a big congrats and said my old eyes appreciate the larger screen," said Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming CEO. "I’m really looking forward to supporting them with the games that we have, and I just think they’re a really important part of this industry."
Nintendo revealed the Switch 2 earlier this month but did not provide many details on the hybrid console, which can be connected to the TV via its dock.
Diablo 4, Halo, Flight Simulator?
A partnership between Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo had been rumored for some time, with games such as Diablo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator said to be among the first titles.
The Call of Duty games will also come to Switch 2 as a result of Microsoft's commitments related to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
In February 2024, Microsoft announced plans to release games on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch but the first games were smaller titles such as Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush.
Xbox Series X is currently hard to find in stores in many countries, but Spencer reiterated that Microsoft will continue to launch new consoles.
