Alongside the new Bixby, Samsung is rolling out Microsoft's Copilot AI to its Smart TVs and monitors. However, it remains to be seen whether it will stick around.
Remember Google Assistant? Beyond Google TVs, it was promoted as a feature on LG and Samsung Smart TVs, only to later be completely removed from both new and existing TVs.
This time, Samsung has partnered with Microsoft for Copilot, as first announced at CES 2025 in January. Copilot is also coming to LG Smart TVs and will compete with Google's Gemini on Google TVs.
Starting with the 2025 models
Samsung said that Copilot can be accessed now through an app on the Tizen OS homescreen, Samsung Daily+ and Click to Search, offering conversational AI support.
Copilot can assist with recommendations, information and more. It can also provide facts about movies or actors and summarize movie plots. The AI supports multiple languages.

Initially, Copilot will be available only on 2025 Samsung TVs, including OLED, LCD and The Frame models, as well as M7, M8 and M9 smart monitors. Samsung said it will later expand to additional models and regions.
- "Copilot on Samsung TVs is designed to feel like an AI companion in your living room," said David Washington, Partner GM, Microsoft AI. "Together with Samsung’s leadership in advanced display technology, we’re bringing people a shared experience that helps them discover something to watch, ask questions, make plans or simply enjoy a moment together, all on the biggest screen in their home."
