Some of the first 3D movies available from the Google TV app on Android XR headsets include Jurassic World: Rebirth, Star Trek Beyond and Hugo.
Earlier this month, Samsung launched the first XR headset based on Google's new Android XR platform.
Android XR provides access to VR-optimized versions of Google Maps, YouTube and a handful of other apps, but immersive media experiences have largely been missing since launch, unlike the rich catalog available on Apple Vision Pro.

3D movies from Google
Google has now started adding 3D movies to its catalog. These titles are available to buy or rent through the Google TV app on Android XR, as reported by owners on Reddit (link).
Details such as whether the 3D titles are available in 4K HDR or limited to HD, and which countries have access, remain unclear as Google has yet to make an official announcement.
The first 3D titles on Google TV on Android XR are:
- Captain Underpants
- Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away
- Dredd
- Drive Angry
- Hugo
- Jackass
- Jurassic World Rebirth
- My Bloody Valentine
- Passengers
- Star Trek Beyond
- Star Trek Into Darkness
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
- The Amazing Spider-Man
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2
- The Bad Guys 2
- Wicked

A lot of catching up to do
16 titles is a start – and there may be more hidden in the catalog – but Google still has a long way to go to catch up to Apple's selection of 309 movies in 3D.
Samsung's Galaxy XR features 4K+ micro-OLED displays, giving it the potential to deliver amazing 3D image quality similar to Apple Vision Pro. Both Apple and Samsung headsets support MV-HEVC decoding for 3D, whereas none of Meta's headsets do.
