Google and Samsung have reached an agreement to bring Google Cast – formerly known as Chromecast – to the company's Smart TVs, making it easier to share content from your phone.
All Google TV devices have Google Cast built in, and LG began rolling out Google Cast to new and some older TV models with webOS in 2024.
Many Smart TVs now has the feature built in, allowing you to 'cast' movies, series and other content wirelessly to TVs from your Android or iOS phone or tablet. Google Cast has long been requested by Samsung users, who until now have had to rely on Apple AirPlay.
Google Cast in Samsung TVs
Samsung has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that 2026 models will launch with Google Cast built in.
Google Cast is also confirmed for Samsung's 2025 and 2024 models. You will need firmware update v2115 or later. Keep an eye on the update menu on your TV.
Settings for Google Cast will appear in the Samsung TV menu, as shown in the photo below:

Result of a change in policy
Samsung changed its approach a few years ago and finally began upgrading the Tizen operating system on older Smart TVs following pressure from the market and FlatpanelsHD.
2023 models are also receiving OS updates, but it has not been confirmed whether they will get Google Cast as well.
