Canvas L delivers even more power and now supports TVs up to 115 inches, but it is also significantly more expensive. The company calls it "the first audiophile soundbar".
The Danish Canvas HiFi speaker, designed to sit beneath most flat-panel TVs using an adjustable mounting system, was launched in January 2024 after a long development process.
Since then, Canvas has introduced a special version for Samsung TVs, which has become part of an ongoing lawsuit where Bang & Olufsen accuses Canvas of copying its TV design – a case that has not yet been resolved.
Canvas L is more powerful
The company is now back with Canvas L – L for large – described as "extremely powerful" with a total peak output of 1500W. The original Canvas remains in the lineup, meaning Canvas L sits above it as a larger, more powerful sibling.
- “With Canvas L, our ambition was to create far more than a conventional TV audio product. We wanted to deliver a true audiophile experience with the emotional engagement, scale and precision of high-end hi-fi – integrated seamlessly into contemporary interior design, said Laust Nielsen, CEO of Canvas HiFi.
Canvas L is slightly wider (149 cm vs. 135 cm) and heavier (24 kg vs. 16 kg) than the original. It features a revised driver configuration, including larger woofers, a passive radiator, and a new 3-inch midrange driver. The system is tuned by Benno Baun Meldgaard, who has previously worked with Gryphon, Raidho and Gamut Zodiac.

Supports TVs up to 115 inches
The smallest supported TV size for mounting with the included bracket is now 65 inches. For the first time, front covers are also available for 98 and 115-inch TVs. The covers attach magnetically and are sized to match the TV’s width.
The system still includes Bacch 3D processing for virtualised surround sound, along with HDMI eARC, Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, DLNA and Roon. New connectivity options include digital coax, RCA and an Ethernet port. It also supports Control4 integration, which will also be added to the original Canvas via a software update in October.

A very expensive soundbar
Canvas L sits in a completely different price category than typical soundbars, with its starting price of 6000 Euro including bracket and front fabric for a 65-inch TV.
This places it outside the competitive set of soundbars from brands such as Samsung, Sony, LG and Sennheiser. It is also significantly more expensive than recent entries from Hi-Fi manufacturers entering the soundbar space such as SVS and KEF. Canvas L competes more directly with Bang & Olufsen, targeting enthusiasts who value both sound and design.
Canvas L was unveiled today and will be shown for the first time at the High End show in Vienna, Austria on June 4. It will go on sale around the world in Q4 2026.
