Dell unveils two RGB-stripe OLED monitors including first 39" 5K2K model

01 Jun 2026 | Rasmus Larsen |

Dell's new 39-inch AW3926QW and 34-inch AW3426DW both feature RGB-stripe pixels, but one is WOLED and the other is QD-OLED.

RGB-stripe pixels are finally coming to OLED panels, at least in monitors – not yet TVs. Both LG Display and Samsung Display, the makers of the panels, have made RGB-stripe announcements ahead of Computex 2026 in Taiwan this week.

Even better, the panels are not simply concepts or statement pieces, as we are starting to see a flurry of announcements from monitor makers about RGB-stripe OLED panels arriving this year.

Dell's new RGB-stripe OLED monitors

At Computex 2026, Dell is introducing the 39-inch ultrawide AW3926QW, which features a 5K2K (5120x2160) resolution in a 21:9 format, 165Hz (or 330Hz at 1080p), and one of LG Display's latest Tandem WOLED panels with RGB-stripe pixels. According to Dell, it is the first 39-inch monitor with RGB-stripe pixels. It is worth highlighting that while LG's current 39-inch 39GX950B with 5K2K resolution looks quite similar on paper, LG's version does not have RGB-stripe pixels. Additionally, Dell has unveiled the 34-inch AW3426DW – the successor to AW3425DW – featuring Samsung Display's latest Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, also with RGB-stripe pixels. This model has a 3440x1440 resolution in a 21:9 format and a 280Hz refresh rate.

Limited impact on brightness

Both are gaming monitors under Dell's Alienware brand and are listed with 1300 nits peak brightness in HDR and 300 nits fullscreen brightness. If accurate, the switch to RGB-stripe pixels will have only a limited impact on brightness levels – one of the main challenges. Both also support Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as HDMI 2.1 with VRR, G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync, and are certified for DisplayHDR 500 True Black. The AW3926QW features DisplayPort 2.1, while the AW3426DW has DisplayPort 1.4. Dell said that both are also covered by a 3-year burn-in warranty, which is reassuring to hear for both WOLED and QD-OLED. The Dell AW3926QW will be available this fall, while the AW3426DW will launch in July. Pricing for both monitors will be announced later.
