HBO Max to launch in Poland, Netherlands & 13 other countries on March 8

The next step for HBO Max is an expansion to an additional 15 countries in Europe on March 8, 2022. And later this year HBO Max will expand to six more European countries.

HBO Max in Europe

The 15 countries are: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. - "The global roll out of HBO Max continues at pace as we launch the platform in 15 additional European countries, taking us to 61 territories worldwide. We are delivering on our strategy to go direct-to-consumer around the world which coupled with our beloved content will give us the scale needed to be one of the top global streaming platforms," said Johannes Larcher, Head of HBO Max International. HBO Max in Europe offers movies and series from Warner Bros., HBO, DC, Cartoon Network, Max Originals and more content. Recent movies include The Matrix Resurrections, Dune, King Richard, The Suicide Squad and Tom and Jerry and new originals include Station Eleven, Peacemaker, Raised by Wolves season 2 and Sex Lives of College Girls. As part of the HBO Max launch in Europe, Warner Bros is reducing the theatrical window for its latest blockbuster movies to 45 days in the Nordics, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Greece, Iceland and additional countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

HBO Max Europe

HBO Max is supported on most popular TV platforms including Android TV, Apple TV (tvOS), Chromecast, LG Smart TV (2018+), Samsung Smart TV (2016+), PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series. 4K streaming on HBO Max in Europe comes in at 16-22 Mbps (HEVC) for average video bitrate, with peaks exceeding 30 Mbps, according to FlatpanelsHD's sample tests. Dolby Atmos is also available for some titles. HBO Max will expand to six more European countries later this year, with Greece and Turkey confirmed.
