Sony has huge plans with 3D in 2010 and Sony has announced the 3D plans as a part of their new global "make.believe" message. On IFA 2009 Sony has revealed more information about their 3D adventure to FlatpanelsHD.
Sony confirms that they are already working on 3D Bravia LCD-TVs planned for market launch in 2010. The TV will exploit the 3D possibilities that Sony has developed but will also support 3D from other manufacturers' devices.

Sony also mentions that they will expand the 3D platform to include 3D on the PlayStation 3, Sony VAIO laptops and finally on Sony's Blu-Ray players and Blu-Ray releases. We can thus look forward to both movies and games in 3D from Sony next year, and older PS3 games will be updated with 3D capability as well.
Unfortunately the Sony 3D technology requires 3D glasses; not the polarized glasses you know but instead high-definition shutter glasses, which alternates the image for the right and left eye. The same way it’s done with GeForce shutter glasses.
