What most though were just crazy prototypes are now becoming real products following positive feedback, says Samsung. Samsung will release its curved 105” UHD TV and its 85” bendable UHD TV in the second half of 2014.
Samsung’s crazy TVs are coming
Samsung has several crazy high-end TVs exhibited at their CES booth, and some will actually come to market. Samsung has not announced prices, but the indications suggest that Samsung will sell them at very, very high prices.
- “Given the tremendous media and industry reception for these new products, we are excited to bring our 105” Curved UHD TV and 85” Bendable UHD TV to consumers around the world,” said HS Kim, executive vice president of the visual display business at Samsung Electronics.

The 105-inch Samsung curved UHD TV
Samsung’s 105-inch curved TV is based on LCD technology with an LED backlight. It is also curved and uses the extra wide 21:9 format. Samsung will also be bringing its 85-inch bendable TV to market. The TV can switch between curved and flat states, and is based on LCD technology. Both TVs have 4K resolution, HDMI 2.0, HEVC decoding, and support Samsung’s Evolution Kit.
Samsung’s crazy TVs will hit select markets in the second half of 2014.
