We finally know how much Sony will be asking for its stunning A1 OLED TVs. Sony USA has announced that prices will start at $5000 dollars for a 55-inch version.
Sony A1 OLED pricing
Sony unveiled its first large-size OLED TVs at CES in January but did not announce pricing details at that time. The only thing Sony would say was to expect a “price on the same level as Z9D”.
The company stayed true to its word. At launch a 65” Sony Z9D was priced at $6,999 dollars. The 65” A1 OLED will be priced at $6,499. The smaller 55” model will cost $4,999. Ahead of CES, Sony’s OLED TVs were rumored to start at just $2000 dollars but that estimate was clearly wrong.
At $5000 dollars Sony's TVs will also be more expensive than LG's new OLED TVs. LG has yet to reveal pricing details for its most affordable 2017 B7 model but the 2017 C7 model will cost $3,499 in 55".

Dolby Vision & Android TV
The A1 OLED TVs are also equipped with a unique ”acoustic surface” system that uses the OLED panel as a speaker. A1 supports several HDR formats, including Dolby Vision (will require firmware update that is coming "by the end of the year.").
Additionally, the TVs are based on Google’s Android TV platform and has built-in Chromecast functionality. You can read our first impressions of the Sony OLED here. We will publish a full review later.
The Sony A1 OLED TVs are up for pre-order in the US today. The TVs will start shipping in April 2017. Sony has not announced pricing details for Europe.
