Samsung has unveiled their new 24-inch FX2490HD with LED backlit. FX2490HD has a built-in TV tuner making it a Hybrid 1080p PC monitor and TV solution.
FX2490HD is a new monitor from Samsung with the new Samsung design that is also used on most of the 2010 TV line-up. It has a brown frame with a transparent border and a four-legged stand.
FX2490HD comes with an integrated TV tuner and 2 HDMI inputs that allow you to connect Blu-ray players and gaming consoles, and a SCART input on the European version. For PC connectivity you can use the digital DVI input or the analogue D-SUB (VGA).
It also has PIP (Picture in picture) support and a USB input. Finally, it supports 7.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS audio.
Samsung mentions a 5 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 240 cd/m2 brightness and a 1920x1080 resolution. Samsung does not mention the panel type but it looks like a TN panel.
Samsung FX2490HD will be available in Korea this month. Expect a US and Europe launch soon with a suggested retail price of $540 USD.
