Asus presents their O!Play Gallery media player with streaming functionality and internet-based services. The design of the O!Play Gallery offers easy connectivity with the iPhone and iPod, USB 3.0, and support for 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD. Asus describes it as a true home entertainment center for video, photos and music.

Enjoy your iPod and iPhone content

The O!Play Gallery allows users to play media content from an iPod and iPhone in full HD on the living room TV. The intuitive remote control with a built-in rotary wheel helps users make their multimedia experience easy to use, says Asus.

An O!Direct function also offers consumers easy one-click streaming of content from PC to TV, without the need for USB storage devices.

Fast HD transfer

Asus’ O!Play Gallery can be upgraded to house a 3.5” hard drive with SATA 6Gb/s connection. Users can transfer media content via USB 3.0 from PCs to the O!Play Gallery, up to ten times faster compared to USB 2.0.

The Smart TV box also includes the MyLife calendar function, which can quickly organize photos to create photo diaries and share with other people..

Netflix, YouTube & Gracenote

A range of online services such as Netflix (US only), YouTube, thousands of online TV stations and radio streams, Flickr, Picasa and more are available. Gracenote is also providing access to the online Gracenote database so users can access metadata of their music library.

The most popular formats are supported, even ISO format, in HD quality. Audio is projected in 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD surround, which easily integrates with home surround sound setups.

Asus O!Play is available from early may. The price is around 195 Euro.
