LG did not unveil it on the opening day, but after Samsung unveiled the two 55-inch 4K OLED TVs, LG responded by unveiling a 77-inch OLED TV with Ultra HD resolution.

LG and Samsung are constantly trying to outdo each other on OLED technology, which is expected to be the third major display technology after LCD and plasma. And at IFA in Berlin Samsung had two very impressive 55-inch 4K OLED TVs to show off.

LG responded shortly after by setting up a much larger 77-inch OLED TV with 4K resolution. The TV was not exhibited on opening day.

FlatpanelsHD saw the TV at IFA, and it is extremely impressive. It is gigantic, and the level of detail is incredible. We would probably have preferred a flat one over a curved variant, but it is nevertheless one of the most amazing TVs out there right now. It is also incredibly thin.
LG says that the TV is still a prototype. However, it demonstrates that LG can combine 4K resolution with OLED technology, just like Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic.
