TCL has already entered the US market, and is now readying a major expansion into Europe later this year. The Chinese TV maker will introduce affordable Ultra HD TVs, starting at 700 Euro.
TCL to enter Europe this year
Several Chinese TV makers have enjoyed exploding TV sales in the last couple of years, largely thanks to a booming Chinese TV makers. Now, they want to conquer the rest of the world.
TCL, the third largest TV maker in the world during some months, is preparing to enter Europe after launching their first Ultra HD TVs in USA last year. TCL will enter Europe with a series of Ultra HD TVs in 40 and 49 inch sizes that will sell for 700 and 1000 Euro, respectively, according to Hardware.info.
Dubbed the S7606 series, the new TVs will feature Ultra HD LCD panels made by CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics Technology), which is TCL’s LCD panel manufacturer. The TVs will also feature Smart TV functionality, apps and 3D capabilities. TCL is also selling TVs in Europe under the Thomson and Pioneer brands.
TCL will reveal more details about the European expansion during IFA 2014 in Berlin this September.
