Samsung JS9500 (SUHD) received

02 Jun 2015 | Torben Rasmussen |

We have received Samsung’s flagship TV for 2015. Samsung JS9500 is part of what Samsung is calling S’UHD that goes beyond just more pixels. It incorporates HDR (high dynamic range) and a wider color gamut. It also features the new Tizen platform. If there is anything you want us to examine during the review post a comment.

Samsung JS9500, JS9000 and JS8500 are all part of the SUHD line-up. JS9500 has a full-array local dimming backlight for the full HDR (high dynamic range) experience on a LCD panel. It uses quantum dots to increase the color gamut to 92% of DCI P3 that is also used in cinemas. It is a curved TV and it also offers the new Tizen operating system and HEVC+VP9 decoding.
