LG's first 48-inch 4K OLED will cost 1800 Euro while a 77-inch 4K OLED will remain very expensive in 2020 at 7000 Euro. LG Germany has announced pricing and availability details.
2020 LG OLED prices
LG Germany is the first regional office to announce pricing details and this should give us a good indication of LG's plans for 2020. Prices may vary in your part of Europe.
LG's first 48-inch OLED (CX series) will carry a suggested retail price of 1800 Euro, which is 500 Euro less than the 55-inch CX OLED. LG has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the 48-inch version has the same panel (with higher pixel density) and all of the same features as the larger models.
The company's new 'Gallery' GX OLED series will start at 2500 Euro for a 55-inch model.
A 77-inch 4K OLED (CX) will start at 7000 Euro, which is still very expensive and only 1000 Euro lower than the starting price of last year's version. As a result, Samsung will most likely retain its tight grip of the market for 75-inch+ high-end TVs.
LG also announced that its rollable RX OLED TV will cost an astronomical 60000 Euro when it launches later this year.
No other TV brands have announced full pricing details for Europe so at this time we have no reference other than last year's LG models. In Germany, LG's CX models will be priced 300-400 Euro lower than the 2019 C9 models (1000 Euro for the 77-inch). The new 55-inch GX will be 500 Euro cheaper than last year's E9.
Pricing for the US and UK will be announced later.
FlatpanelsHD will soon publish our annual 2020 TV line-up articles. Until then, you can find more details about LG's 2020 OLED TVs here.
LG's 2020 4K OLED TVs will start shipping in Europe from April 2020. The 48-inch OLED will arrive in May, which is much earlier than Sony's 48-inch OLED that is scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2020.
