With the right equipment and the Calman software you will soon be able to auto-calibrate TCL's latest 4K TVs in the C728 and C825 ranges.

LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and Philips have already added support for Calman calibration. TCL Europe is now also partnering Portrait Display, the company behind Calman.

- "Thanks to world leading auto calibration software from Portrait Displays our 2021 premium LCD TV sets can fully utilize its calibration capabilities of Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, SDR formats thanks to 3D LUT 17x17x17. It means that up to 4934 calibration points can be used to help professional calibrators and consumer to enjoy picture with extremely low color errors, all fully automated and quick," said Marek Maciejewski, Product Development Director, TCL Europe.


 TCL's C728 and C825 models will be Calman Ready

TCL's C728 (also known as QLED850 in some regions) and C825 models, which both launched in Europe in spring 2021, will get 'Calman Ready' integration. Like LG, TCL will support Calman's new Aurora color engine.

- "By integrating Calman Ready with the new QLED TV C72+ Series and Mini LED TV C82 Series calibration is made easy, consistent, and automated," said Eric Brumm, President & CEO, Portrait Displays.

To get started, you need a supported colorimeter (like X-Rite i1Display, X-Rite i1Pro or Spyder 5) and the Calman Home app. In 2019, Portrait Displays launched more affordable versions of its Calman software ($145), tied to a specific TV brand.

There is currently no Calman Home software available for TCL but it should appear soon. More information can be found here.
