Disney+ finally came to Panasonic OLED and LCD TVs in September but support for Dolby Atmos audio was missing. A new update fixes the situation.

The Disney+ app is available on Panasonic Smart TVs with My Home Screen from 2017 onwards. The app already supported streaming in 4K and Dolby Vision HDR.

Disney+ now also officially supports Dolby Atmos audio on compatible Panasonic TVs, bringing  app functionality on par with other TV platforms.

- "From today, on Dolby Atmos compatible TVs, the Disney+ app supports Dolby Atmos," Panasonic said in a statement to FlatpanelsHD. "Please be aware that not every movie or series has Atmos support, it depends on the title itself and also the languages."



Panasonic started supporting Dolby Atmos on high-end TV models in 2019. In its latest TVs for 2021, Atmos is supported in all mid-range models and up. You can see which TV models support Dolby Atmos in the TV Database.

For Dolby Atmos audio you can check Marvel or Star Wars movies on Disney+. You must update the app for Dolby Atmos to work. Some Panasonic flagship TVs are equipped with Dolby Atmos speaker systems but you can also output Atmos to an external soundbar or receiver through HDMI ARC/eARC.
