FlatpanelsHD gave you the first and exclusive details on TCL Europe's 2022 line-up in January and today the Chinese company officially announced and showcased the products at a launch event. We will publish hands-on impressions later. This year's flagship 4K model is known as the C93 series, or C935. It available in 65 and 75 inches with TCL's most advanced miniLED zone dimming system. It was confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the 65 inch features 1080 zones while the 75 inch features 1920 zones.

TCL's C93 comes with HDMI 2.1 ports and features such as 4K120 support, VRR and ALLM for gaming. C93 will be one of TCL's first models with a 144Hz panel for PC gaming, along with the C73 (55–75’") and C83 series. 4K 144Hz VRR input is supported over the TVs' HDMI 2.1 ports. The flagship model will also be quipped with a 2.1.2-channel Onkyo speaker system. Two up-firing speakers are installed to deliver Dolby Atmos overhead effects. The step-down C83 series, or C835, features a less advanced miniLED zone dimming backlight behind the LCD panel. The number of dimming zones was not disclosed. It features HDMI 2.1 including 4K120, VRR, and ALLM. The more affordable C73 and C63 LCD ranges are no longer equipped with a miniLED backlight. C73 features HDMI 2.1 including VRR (up to 144Hz) and ALLM, while C63 is a range of more basic 50Hz LCD TVs. TCL introduced its first miniLED LCD TVs in 2018 and the new high-end TVs will compete with models from Samsung, Sony and other brands. Samsung launched its first miniLED LCD TVs last year while Sony will launch its first miniLED LCD TVs in the coming months. - "This year again, with the ambition of becoming the top player in the Mini LED TV sector, TCL has made significant improvements in TCL Mini LED technology and brand-new C93 Series and C83 Series Mini LED models which now offer an even better visual experience to users with high and precise contrast, less blooming, high brightness, and a better uniformity," said TCL.

Google TV and 85-98" TVs

All of TCL's 2022 C-series models feature Google TV with access to streaming apps and games from the Google Play store. All Google TVs feature built-in Chromecast, Google Assistant, Google Stadia, and other smart features. TCL's 2022 Google TVs will launch on Android 11, the company confirmed to FlatpanelsHD earlier this year. In addition, TCL will add 85-inch 4K models and even a 98-inch 4K model to the line-up later this year. - "Thanks to TCL's innovation and production capabilities, all TCL C and P series now include a 75-inch model. To further enhance the immersive viewing experience, TCL is also launching two 85-inch TVs (C73 series and P73 series) as well as an extra-large 98-inch model for its C73 series." Other new features include a Game Bar that lets you quickly access gaming-related features and multi-HDR support of HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Vision IQ. Multi-HDR support lets you enjoy movies, series and games in the best possible HDR format on the disc or from the streaming service. TCL is also launching new entry-level P-series models with Google TV, known as P73 (P735) and P63 (P635). The company will announce 2022 models for the US later. Some of TCL's 2022 models are already available in Europe while others will launch in April and May. Prices for the high-end TVs will be announced later.
