Vizio's flagship soundbar has not been upgraded but the company is launching two new affordable M-Series soundbars, one of which has the 'Elevate' technology from the flagship.

Vizio's new $800 M-Series Elevate (M512E-K6) is a 5.1.2-channel solution that will compete with Sonos Arc. It comes with a wireless subwoofer and integrated height speakers that automatically turn in position when Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio sources are detected.

- "When Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio sources are detected, the speakers automatically rotate up, reflecting sound from the ceiling for a truly immersive audio experience. When rotated forward, these speakers provide a wide soundstage with clear vocals for standard surround and stereo modes, particularly great for music," explains Vizio.

This technology was first introduced in 2020 with the $1000 Vizio Elevate which is still the company's flagship soundbar.

eARC and Dolby Vision passthrough
The M-Series Elevate packs 13 speakers including dedicated tweeters and woofers as well as low-profile surround speakers, for a maximum output of 103dB.

The subwoofer can deliver bass down to 45Hz. M-Series Elevate supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and also features HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 5.0, and HDMI 2.0 with 4K Dolby Vision passthrough.

An audio control menu will automatically appear on select Vizio TV from which the user can adjust the soundbar's settings using the TV's remote control.

The other new soundbar from Vizio is the M-Series All-In-One, which is a simple 2.1-channel soundbar. It too supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X but we would not expect much benefit here. Other features include HDMI eARC, 4K Dolby Vision passthrough, and Bluetooth.

The M-Series Elevate and M-Series All-In-One will both be available starting this summer in North America for $800 and $200, respectively, from Amazon, Best Buy, Sam's Club.
