Foxconn-owned Sharp will not only bring miniLED LCD TVs with Google TV to the US but also OLED TVs and affordable LCD TVs powered by Roku.

All of the new TV series with Sharp branding will launch in the US this spring, and the miniLED LCD will soon after expand to Canada, Mexico, Grand China, ASEAN and the Middle East countries.

The miniLED LCD model, which will be branded "XLED", is based on Sharp's existing EP1 model that was released in Japan in late 2022. It will be available in 65, 70 and 75 inches sizes, with the largest screen features over 2000 dimming zones. These TVs run Google TV and feature both down- and up-firing speakers.

- "This AQUOS XLED for the U.S. market was developed based on the latest model of the EP1 lineup in Japan. It uses Xtreme mini LED technology, which controls the dark and light by dividing mini LEDs (which are laid at high density as the backlight) into more than 2,000 areas," announced Sharp Crop.



OLED and LCD Roku TVs
The OLED models – which we expect to deliver better picture quality – will be available in 55 and 65 inches only, and run Roku OS. In other words, the first Roku OLED TV.

The more affordable LCD TVs, also with Roku OS, will be available in 50, 55, 65 and 75 inches.

At CES 2023, Sharp also showcased a 120-inch miniLED LCD but it remains a prototype for now.
