Ahead of CES 2024, LG has unveiled a full range of new soundbars for 2024. They can play in synchronization with compatible LG TV models and some can even connect wirelessly.

LG's soundbar line-up for 2024 is a refinement of what came before, but LG says that the flagship is equipped with redesigned tweeters for improved music playback and clear voices, while a new passive radiator takes care of bass.

Like its predecessor S95QR, the 2024 flagship S95TR is a 9.1.5-channel system with 5 up-firing units, side-firing units, wireless subwoofer and wireless rear speakers. S95TR supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as previous Dolby and DTS audio formats.

LG's other 2024 soundbars
LG is once again highlighting Wow Orchestra which lets some of the soundbars play in synchronization with a compatible LG TV's speakers – much like Samsung's Q-Symphony – while Wow Interface lets you control soundbar settings directly from the TV's interface.

LG is also planning to launch the SG10TY, S90TY, S70TR, S70TY, S60TR, S60T, S40T, and S20T soundbars this year, but we do not yet have an overview of features. LG's 'lifestyle' soundbars such as the Eclair models will carry over into 2024.

The SG10TY is designed to "flawlessly align with the width and frame colors of LG OLED TVs", the company said, while the S70TY is designed to match LG's "QNED" LCD models. There are special brackets available.

S70TY also features the up-firing center unit for the first time in a mid-range model, and it supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.


Wowcast and improved room calibration
New for 2024, LG's 'AI Room Calibration' can calibrate the rear speakers, while some soundbars have a Pro version that the company claims can "move" the position of the speakers in the room for those situations where the speakers are not placed optimally.

Again this year, Wowcast allows the S95TR and SG10TY to connect wirelessly to compatible LG TVs. Wowcast supports lossless high-res audio over the wireless link including for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

LG did not comment on the soundbars' video passthrough capabilities but the new products will be on display at CES 2024 in Las Vegas next month so FlatpanelsHD will soon be taking a closer look.
