    First flat Samsung QD-OLED monitors

It is worth noting that these are Samsung's first flat QD-OLED monitors. The G8 and G6 models now also feature a conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. The 49" G9 and 32" G8 monitors support up to a 240Hz refresh rate for gaming, while the 27" G6 supports up to 360Hz. Although not as high as LG's 480Hz OLED monitor, Samsung achieves 360Hz at a higher 1440p resolution.

    - "Along with game genres, gaming platforms are getting more diverse," said Hoon Chung, EVP of the Samsung Electronics VD. "Samsung's new OLED Odyssey gaming monitors will empower gamers with more immersive game environments and innovative technology that personalize their gaming experiences — meeting and exceeding their evolving needs." The new QD-OLED monitors expand Samsung's line-up and are gradually, yet steadily, replacing conventional LCD monitors. This shift enables PC gamers to finally experience true HDR gaming – not possible with Samsung's 'Odyssey Neo' LCD monitors.

    HDMI 2.1 and Tizen built-in

Samsung did not release full specifications but did confirm that the three new monitors are equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4. Additionally, there is a USB hub. All three new models feature an anti-glare coating and support Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for gaming.

They come with Samsung's Tizen TV platform, offering various streaming apps, including the Gaming Hub with cloud gaming apps. Furthermore, there is a SmartThings Hub, which also connects to Matter devices (Zigbee and Thread devices require an additional dongle). The Multi Control feature is new, allowing users to transfer images and text between their Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices, including Galaxy tablets and phones. Core Lighting+ is an Ambilight-type mood lighting system: - "Core Lighting+ immerses users in the environments of their games and entertainment by emitting ambient light from the back of the monitor. And with a lighting circle four times slimmer than the previous model (G95SC model), it fits in seamlessly with the slim 3.9mm metal bezel," explained Samsung. Pricing and availability details for Samsung's S27DG60S, S32DG80S and S49DG95S will be announced later.
