At CES 2024, Dell's Alienware is expanding its line-up of QD-OLED monitors with the 32-inch 4K AW3225QF, featuring Dolby Vision for the first time, and the 27-inch 360Hz AW2725DF.
Remember the two 2024 QD-OLED gaming monitors Dell teased in October? The company has this week released full specifications, pricing, and launch timings for both North America and Europe, with a few nice surprises sprinkled in.

First of their kind but...
Dell said that both monitors are the first of their kind. The "world's first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor" (AW3225QF) and the "world's first 360Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor" (AW2725DF).
This is technically true but Dell is not the only brand to launch such monitors built on Samsung Display's 2024 QD-OLED panels.
- "Today at CES 2024, Alienware is building on our legacy of display innovation with two new world's-first QD-OLED gaming monitors," said Yoon Lee, VP of Displays, Dell Technologies. "Introducing the Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3225QF) and Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW2725DF) – two new, advanced gaming displays that expand our celebrated, award-winning QD-OLED family which first debuted at CES 2022."
The new QD-OLED monitors will without doubt outperform all conventional LCD monitors in almost every way, and will offer some advantages over 2024 (W)OLED monitors. On the other hand, only WOLED will deliver 480Hz gaming in the first half of 2024.

Pick 4K Dolby Vision or 360Hz
Both of the new QD-OLED monitors from Dell Alienware offer unique features, but you will have to pick between 4K Dolby Vision and 360Hz.
Only the 32-inch AW3225QF features 4K resolution (up to 240Hz) and for the first time support for Dolby Vision HDR. Only the 27-inch AW2725DF features 360Hz refresh rate.
Full specifications are embedded below but some observations:
AW3225QF features HDMI 2.1 (FRL bandwidth) but requires DSC (Display Stream Compression) for 4K 240Hz. It has a Console Mode for 4K 120Hz HDR (without DSC) with PS5 and Xbox Series X. It also supports eARC for audio.
AW3225QF's 4K resolution in 16:9 aspect ratio is in theory fit for work with graphics and video, but it is sold as a gaming monitor, likely due to QD-OLED's special triangular pixel structure that can cause color fringing around edges of text and objects.
AW2725DF requires DisplayPort connection for 1440p 360Hz. The HDMI 2.0 port is limited to 1440p 144Hz.
Both come with a 3-year limited OLED burn-in hardware warranty
Alienware's 32" AW3225QF and 27" AW2725DF will be available in North America on January 11 for $1200 (US) / $1500 (CA) and $900 (US) / $1200 (CA), respectively, and in the rest of the world starting February 6.
