Hisense Europe has announced its plans for 2021. The line-up is spearheaded by the company's first miniLED LCD TV as well as OLED TVs.

U9GQ is Hisense's first LCD TV with miniLED backlight. The company said that it utilizes 10,000 LEDs to deliver peak brightness up to 2000 nits. The 75-inch model will go higher at 3000 nits and have 1280 dimming zones, according to the company's specifications.

- "This Hisense Mini-led TV has more than 10,000 LEDs to increase the brightness in 2000 nits. The result is images with deeper blacks and in general better contrast and better control of the backlight," announced Hisense.

In addition, U9GQ comes with multi-HDR support (HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision) and a 3.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos system. The IPS LCD TVs will be marketed as "ULED". It has optional HDMI 2.1 eARC, VRR (48-60Hz) and ALLM features supported on a standard HDMI 2.0 port.

Not ditching OLED TVs
The Chinese company also announced new OLED TVs called A9G. If you are confused, we can understand why. Sony used to sell a range of OLED TVs under the same A9G model name (AG9 in Europe). In 2020, erroneous reports also emerged that Hisense had ditched OLED technology in favor of dual-layer LCD. That did not happen.

A9G will be available in 55 and 65 inches. Hisense said that its new OLED TVs will feature 4K resolution, 'IMAX Enhanced', certification, multi-HDR support (HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision), and a 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos system. It is specified with 800 nits peak brightness.

Hisense A9G is advertised with HDMI 2.1 due to ALLM and eARC support but does not appear to have an HDMI port with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.

The company has also announced new U8GQ and other mid-range models but we do not have a clear picture of the full line-up yet. The TVs will run Hisense's Vidaa 5.0 operating system with access to streaming apps and more.

- "Hisense is the first TV brand in the world to obtain the Product Privacy Protection Certification granted by TÜV Rheinland, the most recognized German institute worldwide, ensuring that the television complies with all European data protection and privacy regulations, in addition to developing a technology that is not so harmful to the user's vision," the company said.

Hisense's U9GQ LCD TVs, A9G OLED TVs, and more models will launch in European countries like the UK, France, Spain, and Italy later this year. The company did not announce pricing details.
