Why 24fps is not enough for HDR movies

I’ve discovered this logo on which Panasonic filed for trademark protection. The filing was made yesterday. It is filed under classification “Television sets; image processing engines for use in televisions.”

I think it’s likely to be the video processor destined for Panasonic’s 2019 high-end TVs. The “Intelligent Processor” thing suggests that it can do some dynamic stuff, perhaps related to HDR processing / metadata? I guess we’ll find out soon.
